Decency
Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at 1:59PM Let me start by saying, in no way do I feel qualified on an academic level to give advice but I have realized that sometimes the things that come natural to some do not necesarily come naturally to others. We all have different experiences and by sharing them can potentially help enlighten someone on how to deal with something they are going thru and while I'm always on a quest to self improve and gain knowledge elsewhere, perhaps I am the elsewhere for someone else.
That being said. Let us begin. (Aww man, that sounded like a priest at church right before we had to pray. At least that's what I heard in my head.)
Anyhow, I often see peoples comments on blogs, tweets or FB posts and wonder, what's wrong with them? Why are they so angry? I mean, everyone has a right to their opinion but to see people disrespectfuly insult someone's hard work or dream is in no way funny or cool. I'm all for a good time and playfully poking fun at things in a sarcastic way that I myself am guilty of but I would never have intent on hurting anyone or discouraging them from doing what makes them happy. Like most of you, I have heard my fair share of, in my opinion, horendous efforts at trying to make music.
There are many things that I am not a fan of nor have interest in hearing but that doesn't mean its wack or shouldn't exist and who am I to make this determination? Let's just say, Its just not for me.
Just think about if the roles were reversed. Would you want someone crushing all your hard work with simple words?? Better yet, if you have a kid, wouldn't it kill you to see how hurt your child was from the awful things that were said to them about their hard work or their dream of making music?? Especially with you being aware of how much work they put into it and how happy it makes them, only to see them discouraged by who?? Some faceless person, who if they had any talent would be out trying to pursue their dreams instead of crushing someone elses.
Listen, if you put yourself out there your subject to ridicule, all I'm suggesting is, be decent, have some class and consider not saying anything at all if you dislike it so much, or since you have such vast knowledge of what's wack and what sucks to the world, give some constructive criticism. You don't know the work they have put into what it is they are doing, the reason they are doing it or the courage they maybe had to muster up to put themselves out there.
Help Inspire a dream not retire a dream!
Good Luck to everyone.

new-music Clinton Sparks and the Disco Fries Announce Premier of “Killer” Music Video
Friday, August 12, 2011 at 6:23PM What does a sword swallower, fire spitter and prosthetic leg all have in common? They are all part of the new music video for production duo, The Disco Fries new single, “Killer,” featuring Clinton Sparks that will debut August 16th on KarmaloopTV (www.karmalooptv.com). Multi-platinum producer Clinton Sparks put the Get Familiar stamp of approval on this project from conceptualizing and writing the lyrics to taking a seat in the director’s chair for the video.
“ I really enjoyed working on this project with The Disco Fries,” said Sparks. “ They are super talented DJs/Producers with open minds and we killed this video just like we do in the club!”
The single, “Killer” was inspired by the idea of subliminal messaging that it is a DJ’s job to kill the club and get the crowds to musically escape – a job Clinton Sparks nor The Disco Fries take for granted when they are in the DJ booth. The trio decided against taking an expected approach with the video and instead created a visually stimulated story, packed with sideshow oddities and creepy people.
“We wanted to do a single and video that was outside of our comfort zone that also had elements you wouldn’t normally hear in one of our productions,” said The Disco Fries. “ Clinton was able to bring life to the melody, lyrics and visual for the song and we feel we definitely pushed the boundaries of what people expect us to deliver in a collaboration.”
The music video for The Disco Fries single “Killer,” featuring Clinton Sparks will debut on August 16th on KarmaloopTV. For more information on The Disco Fries please visit www.discofriesmusic.com. For more information on Clinton Sparks please visit www.clintonsparks.com.
