Dance tips for Carmen Electra, DJ'n with Duran Duran

This Saturday was another awesome night at Smashtime Saturday's at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Vegas. Method Man came through as well as Carmen Electra and I shared the set this with Roger Taylor of Duran, Duran... How crazy is that??? Tony Wang from the Hard Rock hit me earlier in the week asking me "Do you mind if the guy from Duran, Duran DJs with you?" I'm like "are u crazy? They are pop music icons... of course I don't mind" I'm all about 80's music. On the red carpet I gave carmen some dance tips on how you can cabbage patch to Guns N' Roses & she gave me tips on how to always just look straight & smile on red carpets so there's never a picture of you looking dumb... i.e., the pic of me looking up & laughing like a donkey! Stay tuned as we broadcast The Daily Ten on E! for an entire week live from the Hard Rock in Vegas June 9th-13th... That week is going to be insane!

After performing with Akon at Rehab at The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, we went to the studio to work on mixing and sequencing records for Colby O'Donis' album with my good buddy Exit, who's an amazing engineer. As it stands now I produced 4 records for Colby's album and I have the 2nd single called "Don't Turn Back," which I'll be world premiering on SmashTime Radio this weekend. Kon also played me his album which is gonna be craaaaazy, his first single is gonna be featuring an icon is pop history so stay tuned for that. I may even have a joint on his album too. After listening to his album I played him some of Supastar L.T.'s album music which as you can see in the video clip below, he's feeling it! Look out for that Konvict collabo coming soon.

Iron Man movie premiere party

I DJ'd the Iron Man movie premiere party at The Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood last night. Iron Man is expected to do some big numbers at the box office this weekend, so go check it out, this movie is a must see, setting the summer off right for big blockbuster films like the new installments in the Indiana Jones and Batman franchises. They left my boy Ghostface out of Iron Man, but make sure you stay 'till the end of the credits to catch the Samuel L. Jackson cameo, damn that guy is a movie whore!

Nabbed a Justo at the mixtape awards

The 11th Annual Mixtape Awards ceremony went down last night without a hitch, which was the exact opposite of what happened last year. I won Best Mashup Mixtape DJ, keeping the streak alive of winning a Justo 2 years in a row. Last year I won, Best Club DJ. It's an honor to receive a Justo, which is like the Grammy's for DJ's.

Ioan Grufford & Bun B at SMASHTIME

The "Fantastic 4's" Ioan Grufford and Matthew Rhys from ABC's "Brothers and Sisters" came through to party at SMASHTIME, they apparently heard that Bun B was in town to host SMASHTIME. They were all in Vegas this weekend to watch the Bernard Hopkins vs. Joe Calzaghe fight. Since Bun B and Hopkins share the same first name (Bernard) as well as the services of Rap-A-Lot CEO J. Prince, the Bunster walked Hopkins out to the ring to get him into a Trill state of mind. Unfortunately Joe Calzaghe devastated Hopkins in 12 rounds with a split decision.

Bun performed a few of his UGK classics like the grammy nominated "International Players," Jay-Z's "Big Pimpin," his new single "That's Gangsta" and of course he went "Down In The Dirty" with me. Video footage of his performance will be coming very soon, so don't forget to check back.

Ray-J's Album Release Party at SMASHTIME

Right after the video shoot, Supastar L.T. and I hopped on a plane to make it out to Vegas for my SMASHTIME party at Body English. This week we were hosting Ray-J's "All I Feel" album release party. Brandy came out to celebrate and we debuted Supastar L.T.'s new song featuring Ray-J called "All Around The World." The response was crazy. I can't wait till we put that record out. Video coming soon of the performance, check out a few photos below.

Kardinal Offishal and Akon Dangerous Video Shoot

Today me and Supastar L.T. went down to Miami for Kardinal and Akon's video shoot for Kardi's new song Dangerous, which is a smash! Gil Green directed it and the concept is a very cool one. The idea for the video is a play off of an old rayban commercial that shows different views from the perspective of the reflection off the sunglasses. Check for me and Supastar L.T.'s cameo. Here are a few pic's from the video shoot, that guy in the last photo his name is Supa Dups, he's really a nice guy, don't mind the finger. Complex Magazine Adidas Superstar

Adidas in launching their new Superstar campaign asked “What Makes A Superstar?” and in association with Complex they sought out some of the leaders of our culture and got some answers. In the May issue of Complex each of the superstars gave their answers, they include myself, DJ Neil Armstrong, Yu-Ming, Chris Vidal, Tristan Caruso, Dante Ross, Estelle and Gabriel Urist. Working with a few new artists

YESSSSS finally got the oppurtunity to work with some awesome talent from my hometown, Boston. I found to dope rappers, one called Sev-One who's signed to G.E.M.S worldwide and Supastar L.T. who are both incredibly talented artists. I recently dropped a mixtape with Sev (which you can download here: http://www.sendspace.com/pro/dl/i6htq5) called "The Bootleg" and I'm about to release L.T.'s mixtape "The People's Focus." Both mixtapes feature records I've produced and have features from artists like Jadakiss, Junior Reid, Rick Ross, Cassidy and Freeway. So Get Familiar with them cuz they are making some noise!

I'm also working with my boy Jalen Rose (Former NBA player turned ESPN correspondent) who has an artist he's working with named Kristen..She's an R&B singer that I just finished writing and producing 2 records for. She has an amazing voice, look for her coming soon.

Not many people know this but I write not only songs but screenplays, television shows and stand up comedy. I've always been told growing up "man, you should be a comedian..." but I don't have the balls to get on stage and tell u a joke. Anyhow I KNOW I have incredible material but its the lack of ballage that prevents me from trying so I went to lunch with my boy actor/comedian Alex Thomas the other day for some pointers, he was blown away from my jokes, but that's an understatement. Many times he had say "hold on, if your not using those, I will" so I would say his words of encouragement definitely gave me a little more motivation to try it out, we'll see... Maybe you might catch me at my boy Cipha Sounds "Don't Get Gassed" Comedy Series sometime soon!

What's Happening In '08 Update #1

So I'm in LA sitting here at the airport waiting for my flight to Cancun and just finished taping The Daily 10 on E!. Today I talked about a group called Chromeo during my Get Familiar segment and I strongly suggest you Get Familiar with them, they are such a cool band, if u consider 2 people a band. (Random Thought: What is the official number of people to be considered a band???)

All this week I've been trying to get clearance on a sample I used for a new Ludacris record I produced. I found out that the sample I used is Beethovan which makes it public domain aka it doesn't have to be paid for...Yesssss!!!! I was also able to knock out 3 more beats this week which I'm going to write to during my plane ride. Speaking of plane rides, I just got Ableton Live and I'm about to learn how to use it on my laptop...This software is Sick! You can literally do mixes on your laptop on an airplane flight...such a genius product! Shout to DJ white shadow in Chicago who gave me a crash course. I have to buy another laptop next week to strictly make beats on while I'm on the road, which I'll load with Protools, Reason & Ableton Live... (Sidenote: my goal this year is to make every waking moment of my life productive, otherwise what's really the point?)

Just did a D-Block record for the massive mixtape I told ya'll last week about...which should be dropping in about a month. I still haven't though of a name for the CD yet but I'll think of something soon. I'm most likely going to do it how I did the Kanye West "Touch The Sky" CD (which incidentally is in February issue of Vibe Magazine), but with the boss Akon this time. I produced everything on it just like the "Touch The Sky" Kanye CD and its all new exclusive (because I made them) records from Fabolous, Ludacris, Rick Ross, Yung Joc, Jim Jones, Clipse, Common, Kweli, Fat Joe, Young Buck, Jadakiss and more. You need to Get Familiar, its dropping very soon and I'll have a preview of it sooner on Clintonsparks.com & myspace.com/djclintonsparks hopefully they put it up onsmash.com as well.

Before coming to the airport to catch this flight I was hanging out with my boy DJ Felli Fel his studio and he played me music from his forthcoming album....a lot of hot music and there is one particular song that is a SMASH! No one was on it yet but he played the beat & sang me hook idea, its a winner! I keep telling ya'll Get Familiar with the DJ, we don't just play the hits....We make them! On that note, I got to write to some of these beats...catch ya'll later! Remember to always wear a condom because sharing is caring but not when sharing HIV! Hello!

ANOTHER CLASSIC ON THE WAY!!! For those of you that have been waiting for me to drop another mixtape classic....Wait no more! I am putting the finishing touches on a Monster Mixtape/Album (not to be confused with my real album dropping later) with all brand new exclusive records produced by myself featuring Ludacris, Fabolous, D-Block, Rick Ross, Jim Jones, Clipse, Cassidy, Juelz Santana, Yung Joc, Kardinal Offishall, Gorilla Zoe, Bun B, Slim Thug, Paul Wall, Young Buck, Common, Talib Kweli, Pitbull, Fat Joe, Consequence Pharell and gang more I just can't remember!

This mixtape will also help u get a little understanding of the direction I'm taking in 2008, so please stay tuned because its coming & its free for all. I don't have a title for mixtape yet but it should drop roughly one month from now, so keep checking the site for the link to download it for FREE!!!

This will be the remedy for all those mixtape fans fiending for a Classic mixtape to make a Big deal over! I'm waiting on a couple more artist to come through to finish it up...Intro is crazy! Records are ridiculous! I will even be getting ya'll familiar with a couple new artists I'm working with like Sev-One & Supastar L.T. who are both from my hometown, Boston... (Sidenote: I'm literally in my hotel room in Vegas rightt now making another record with Trey Songz that might make the mixtape but he's saying he wants on his album so we'll see). Anyhow, I'm excited to finish this mixtape extravaganza & for it to be heard and for you to add it your collection.

Thanks to all the magazines & website interviewers that have been asking me "when are you gon drop another classic" and for the friends & supporters that see me in the club or hit me on myspace to asking me for another mixtape album for the streets...Get Familiar!
